TaraMarie Perri MFA, E-RYT, is a dancer, dance educator and yoga teacher. She developed the Mind Body Dancer™ curriculum for all dance, performance, movement and yoga enthusiasts. TaraMarie’s Mind Body Dancer™ curriculum has been incorporated into the professional dance training programs of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, Joffrey Ballet School and Dance New Amsterdam, where she is on faculty. Master classes have been taught at a variety of institutions from American Dance Festival to the Paul Taylor Summer Intensive to the Drama Departments of Goldsmiths and Queen Mary Universities in London. Mind Body Dancer™ classes are anatomically and energetically themed, incorporating alignment-based, breath-focused yoga into a unique movement experience that emphasizes: injury prevention, investigation of individual alignment, overall mind/body wellness and application of the principles of yoga to technique and performance.
In addition to her work with dancers, TaraMarie directs the Mind Body Dancer™ 200 and PRO Teacher Trainings, training dance and teaching professionals to teach yoga and the Mind Body Dancer™ curriculum. She maintains a private practice in New York City, teaching yoga to students from many walks of life, tailoring yoga programs to suit their specific needs in group and private settings.
TaraMarie received an MFA in Dance from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts where bodywork and somatic studies were integrated throughout her conservatory dance training in ballet and modern. She has been performing and teaching yoga, ballet, modern dance, movement studies and dance composition in various US and international venues. TaraMarie has held dance faculty positions at the Performing Arts Institute of Wyoming Seminary, Brandywine Ballet Company and Worcester Youth Ballet. She has been a guest lecturer at College of the Holy Cross, Vassar College, Goldsmiths University and Queen Mary University in London.
TaraMarie began her yoga studies in 1997 and has been teaching in the New York City and Brooklyn yoga communities since 2004 in a number of locations including Namaste New York, Yoga High, Sonic Yoga, East Yoga, Grand Street Yoga Spot and lululemon athletica for their in-store and Bryant Park summer class series. She was certified through OM Yoga and is a member of Yoga Alliance and Yoga for New York. She completed meditation training at Shambhala Meditation Center of New York and advanced studies in Yoga Anatomy with Leslie Kaminoff at The Breathing Project, NYC. |
